    Places and forms of power

Bonjour, j'aimerais savoir si ma notion est correcte svp, merci.

I'm going to talk about « Places and Forms of Power».
First of all, I would like to give a quick definition of the word «Power». It's the capacity to exercise control or authority over others. It can be a person, a group, or a nation having great influence over people. We will especially be interested in the power of the media because if we look at the power of the media for example we can see how much it can influence the public opinion.
My question is: Does everyone in the USA approves the arms legislation ?
I would like to illustrate the notion with “””””””””””””””, “”””””””””””””” and the song “”””””"""”.

In class we carried out research on the Internet about guns in the USA. First, I will explain why some people are for weapons. The second amendment of the US Constitution, which dates back to 1789, says : “A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed”. This means that American citizens are allowed to own and carry guns to protect themselves and others. Donald Trump, the new President, promised to protect the Second Amendment rights in his campaign. Several associations are for weapons, like NRA. NRA stands for National Rifle Association. The NRA is an American nonprofit organization which advocates for gun rights and was funded in 1871. NRA has 4,5 million active members. These major donors are the Republicans. There slogan is “Guns don't kill people, people kill people”.

Now, we talked about guns control. The document I will use is a photo by Bill Owen's. This photo shows a young boy who is riding a toy motorbike and holding a gun. The gun looks very much real, which makes the situation quite unnerving. Indeed it's shocking to see a child playing with a dangerous weapon. Moreover, we saw a video about gun control issue back to US following school shooting. This video is a news report following a mass shooting that took place in 2012 an elementary school in Newton. A young man called Adam Lanza forced his way into the school and gunned down 20 children aged between 5 and 10 and 6 adults. This tragedy triggered major reaction to discuss gun control legislation and president Obama addressed the shooting in his weekly speech. Obama agrees to an individual's right to bear arms but doesn't take it as an absolute right and considers it as a negociable subject. The Democrats tend to be in favour of tighter gun restriction.
Finally, from my point of view, I think we should limit the carrying of weapons. Indeed, I would say that the American citizens not need for a weapon to defend itself. It would be rather for the justice to carry out the duty and to make the order reign. Stricter laws to the carrying of weapons would be necessary.
To conclude, I would like to say that a majority of Americans want guns control. However, the number of killed by bullets increases from year to year. There were 15000 people who were killed by guns in 2016.

(Pour les titres des documents, je ne les ai pas encore mis)

    Bonjour ,
je crois que tu t'es trompé de place pour poser ton post . Tu devrais le mettre dans la partie anglais pas celle de 'j'apprends le français'.
