This essay will explore why I think that luck has a little place on the road of success.
How to succeed without selling your soul and without becoming workaholic?
I almost (practically) agree with the claim that there is no relation between success and luck. But there is special cases. We can consider people who really succeed like stars or famous people and said that luck intervene in (or step in) the success process.
For the purpose of this essay I will try to define the word luck. In the dictionary luck is: The chance happening of fortunate or adverse events; fortune:
In the special case of footballer, we can said that they don't need only to work but they need something called talent (gift or skills). And some have and others don't. In this case apart, luck is needed, even if they can work to develop skills they don’t have, they will need a lot of work to catch what they didn't get by luck.
But, for the vast majority of the world's population there is no correlation between luck and success. Except in some cases like: if you are selected to go to university, you need to fulfil an application form. And your results of past years is needed. If you are on the average group with average notes you will need some help, as luck, to be recruited.
Sometimes to work or others opportunities, you are not selected by your skills or abilities only by chance and in this case too, luck is needed. For example when candidates has the same skills and competencies they will be recruited by chance only.
Also if you are moody, this can affect your day and if you have an interview it can affect the final result of your interview, luck is also needed.
Furthermore, if you have health problem and you have to stop your studies, you run out of luck.

The Serendipity: An excellent example of it is given us by Columbus, who — believing he could reach the Indies by sailing westward — actually discovered America, which he had not intended to discover. The serendipity is an excellent example to characterize that luck is necessary in some cases to succeed.
But in other hand we can said that work is the main part of success even if luck had a little place on the road of success. It cannot be possible to succeed without working. Work as much as you need, it’s the best way to be successful.
All human beings despite their cultural background aim for success in their life to some extent. This success varies from one person to another. People look for success in their business, career, or personal life. One of the most important principles is that there are no impossible things at this world. One of the great power in this world is human will. If someone really believe in something and work hard to achieve it, it’ll succeed. We can take the example of climbers. Through efforts, they manage to climb mountains
In my opinion, if someone works hard from an early age, either academically or athletically, they might find the key to success
There is a humorous saying in English – “The grass is always greener on the other side of the
valley”. The sentence is ironically used to point out that people think to be more unlucky than others
Research has shown that successful students
• make up their minds they're going to succeed. Even if you don’t initially believe yourself, keep telling yourself that you are successful; use the present tense – you are successful now. Positive thinking really does works!
• are well organized and use their time efficiently and effectively.
• have goals and priorities - they decide what’s important and what can wait.
• try different learning strategies and use those that work for them.
• use active learning.
• know that it's best to learn bit by bit: they work consistently and steadily and keep going. They don’t try to cram at the last minute.
The strategies successful students use are often quite simple to put into practice once you know how, but they can make a big difference to your results.

In conclusion or to sum up, we can said that luck has a little place on the road of success as we have seen above in some concrete examples as serendipity but we can’t imagine succeeding without working a minimum.
Finally, it depends on people, some have luck and work a little bit to succeed, some prefer work hard. Success doesn’t mean easiness.
