    Problème/ Past Perfect
    Message de marius28 posté le 21-03-2015 à 15:52:48 (S | E | F)
    Hello !
I have a little doubt about English conjugation.
    How would you conjugate :
" Those men afar were looking strange. By getting away, I had stumbled. They have ran after me, before they sent me to the hospital from where I write this message.".

I found this sentence hard to conjugate. I learned in class to use Past Perfect when an action is closely anterior to another. So I wrote "I had stumbled".
But after, the protagonist runs away.
You have to use present perfect when an action have consequences in the present.
But this action is also anterior to those men sending him to hospital ! Do I have to use past perfect 2 times ? Or present perfect ?

Could you please correct my sentence, and explain me what to do ?
    Thanks for any reply !
