Hello,
could you please help me with these questions?
what's the difference between how long, how tall and how large with animals ?
what can we say when we want to ask about animals, how long or how tall ?
how large = how big or not ?
2. when we say what's your father ? we ask here about father's job ? right or wrong ?
Thanks for your replies .

Hello,
The adjective 'long' refers to the length, 'tall' refers to the height and 'large' refers to the size.
For example, crocodiles are long animals, giraffes are tall animals and elephants are large (or 'big') animals.
To ask someone what their father does for a living, you could ask "What does your father do?", or more precisely "What does your father work as?".
Have a good evening!

Hello,
How can be followed 1)by many adjectives (with a state verb or the verb to be) and 2) by many adverbs with an action verb.
1) How strange is he ? 2) How strangely does he speak ?
How old is he ?
How wide is the road ?
How strange does he look ?
How long is the snake ?
How big and how large can be synonymous, for a room for instance.
How big was the bear ?
How large was the bear?
How tall is vertical, about the size:
How tall are you ? I am one metre seventy/five foot eight (5'8")
What is your father's job? = What does he do in life / What does he do for a living ? / What does he do for a job ?
"What's your father ?" is awkward and almost wrong for me.
P.S. I see that it is your fifth message but you never thank your correctors or acknowledge reading their posts, which can be discouraging for them. You just ask another question....

You're welcome !!
You see, when I answer somebody's question, I then check to see if my answer was read and if any more explanations are needed. When the page remains blank and the subject slowly goes into archives "unanswered", it is frustrating. On the opposite, when people say that they now understand and that you have solved their problem, it is like a reward. A "thank you" after the answer is always more powerful than a general "Thank you for your answers" at the end of the first message.
