Thanks for this most interesting exercise with many difficulties, especially the 3rd sentence !
1)Nothing has been moved since you were sent away to be taken care of.
2)At the party, the famous Professor wasn't taken any notice of, whereas his pretty young wife was made fuss of from the moment she was introduced to the guests.
3.1 The Moon is no longer said to be inhabited no more than it is said that Mars is (inhabited)
3.2 The Moon is no longer said to be inhabited anymore than Mars
3.3 It is no longer said that either the Moon or Mars is inhabited
3.4 It is no longer said that the Moon is inhabited as well as Mars is inhabited
4)My car was only driven once since it had been serviced.
5) If ever I'd lied to you, I'm sure I'd have got some very good reason to do so.
6)For reasons already stated, I've decided that your children should be left in your parents' care until you've been treated for your addiction
7) This funny event was due not so much to his carelessness as to his well-known clumsiness
8) From being merely innocent, this movement has turned out to be a telling sign of the tension between the two of them.
9) It was as though he had never been at school !
10) Nor is this the only way to use it : with your Masterchief robot, preparing apple pies becomes a child's play ! Cooking meals for all your family will even become your favorite hobby !
11) He was walking about as though he was trying to get rid of his haunting thoughts.
12 Susie won't tell you anything else unless you promise to keep it secret forever.

Hello !!
This time the exercise was more difficult. But it was interesting anyway!
1)They haven’t moved anything since they sent you away to take care of you.
-> Nothing has been moved by them since You've been sent away to be taken care of.
2)At the party, people took no notice of the famous Professor whereas they made fuss of his pretty young wife from the moment someone introduced her to the guests.
-> At the party, people took no notice of the famous Professor whereas some fuss had been made of his pretty woman from the moment she was introduced to the guests by someone.
3)People no longer say that anyone inhabits the Moon anymore than Mars.
->It is no longer said that the Moon is inhabited anymore than Mars.
4)I only drove my car once since I had it serviced.
-> My car was driven only once since it had been serviced.
"If ever I was rich I’m sure I’d have no trouble spending my money" I had thought, looking at my reflection in the mirror.
I grew up in a shabby place, I deserved better than this miserable life. My father was a carpenter and my mother was a housewife. Both earned low wages, which wasn't much at the end of the day. My four siblings and I couldn't afford much and I hated that.
(,,,) For reasons already stated, I would have done anything to escape my terrible condition. Almost anything. Come to think of it, not anything. I once considered robbing a gas station. But I had dropped the idea instantly. One day, I won the lottery.
This funny event was due not so much to sheer luck as my addiction. At that time, I used to gamble all my money in gambling games, casino, scratch games... you name it.
And just like that, my bank account had been credited with two million dollars. You should have seen my banking advisor whose face had completely changed. The awful grin had been replaced by a radiant smile.
From being merely a drifter, I was now called "Sir" and offered cups of coffee. The bank director welcomed me in person each time I dropped by.
It was as though I was a whole new person. Long gone was Sam. The tables had been turned and "Sir Nigel" was my new title when they addressed me, it seemed. Confusing. I began to change. I made new friends and went to the most expensive restaurants.
One night, in that restaurant, I stared at my reflection in the mirror. And it struck me. The long face with the dark rings under the eyes started to talk:" My friends wouldn't recognize me, but
nor is this the only thing that's changed lately, is it, dude? " I hardly ever came home anymore. And when I did, Susie and the children were already fast asleep when I crossed the threshold. The day after I met Gary my best friend.
He was walking about as though lost in his thoughts, as always, a lit cigarette in his mouth, as if he was walking an invisible dog. His clothes seemed to large- as were his glasses- and underlined the absent-minded look he had about him. He gave me a grave look and said to me in a sorry voice:
"Susie won’t tell you anything else unless she is compelled to, you know her... but I think she 'll leave real soon with the kids. She's seen a lawyer and want to get a divorce. I'm really sorry mate. She's set her mind. I've tried to reach you but..."
I wasn't listening anymore. My world had just collapsed at that moment.

Hello Here4u !
This exercise is worth but I tried like that :
1. Nothing has been moved since you were sent away to be taken care of.
2. At the party, the famous Professor was not noticed whereas his pretty young wife was the focal point from the moment she was introduced to the guests.
3. It's no longer said that neither the Moon nor Mars are uninhabited.
4. My car was only driven once since it had been serviced.
5. If ever I'd have more free time I'm sure I'd have an overwhelming desire to read tons of books.
6. For reasons already stated I should better manage my working time.
7. This funny event was due not so much to the situation but especially to the moment when it took place.
8. Far from being merely a song 'Imagine' has always been an anthem for the nonviolence.
9. It was as though we had retourned 30 years behind and as if we were again 20 years old.
10. Nor is this the only way to love. Love can be expressed by 100 different ways.
11. He was walking about as though the rain didn't bother him.
12.Susie won't tell you anything else unless you give her a good explanation.
Thanks a lot of course

Good morning here4u!
1) They haven’t moved anything since they sent you away to take care of you
- Nothing has been moved since you were sent away -to be cared for- to be taken care of.
2) At the party, people took no notice of the famous Professor whereas they made fuss of his pretty young wife from the moment someone introduced her to the guests.
- At the party, the famous Professor was ignored whereas his pretty young wife was made a fuss of from the moment she was introduced to the guests.

- The Moon and Mars are no longer said to be inhabited.
4) I only drove my car once since I had it serviced.
- My car has only been driven once by me since being serviced.
5-6-7-8-9-10-11-12)...
---If ever I'd known that Susie were so obstinate, I'm sure I'd have taken her to a different garden centre.
For reasons already stated, I couldn't find the tree she'd set her heart on, the pine tree, the Foxtail pine tree. It may have been called Pinus Balfouriana...
She was extremely agitated and started accusing the gardener of hiding it in his private premises. She thought she could see it in the distance, behind a locked gate and would have gone to get it if a large dog hadn't been barking fiercely.
This funny event was due not so much to the gardener's attitude or his desire to play hide-and-seek, but to the lack of deliveries at that time of the year.
From being merely an inconvenience for most people, for Susie it was a disaster. Since her last holiday in the South of France, she had been dreaming of the "song" of the cicadas in her pine tree.
It was as though the people were ignoring her needs.
Nor was this the only thing to irritate her. The salesman did his best to convince her that an olive tree would be a better choice for her garden on the English Riviera. He was walking about as though he were the Encyclopaedia Britannica, listing all the different types of olive trees, olives and all the benefits of olive oil.
Susie won't tell you anything else unless you are clever enough to find her elusive Foxtail pine tree...
Dear Hear from me, I have been greatly entertained doing this exercise !

Hello
Voici la correction de l'exercice 13. Vous avez été très inventifs! Bravo à tous ! N'hésitez pas à poser des questions sur vos corrections individuelles si je n'ai pas été assez claire !
1) They haven’t moved anything since they sent you away to take care of you.
Nothing has been moved since you were sent away to be taken care of.
Il s’agissait ici de bien penser à faire le rejet des particules adverbiales après les verbes au passif.
2) At the party, people took no notice of the famous Professor whereas they made fuss of his pretty young wife from the moment someone introduced her to the guests.
At the party, the famous Professor wasn’t taken notice of, whereas his pretty young wife was made a fuss of ,from the moment she was introduced to the guests. Idem 2 passifs sur 3 étaient à particule.
3) People no longer say that anyone inhabits the Moon anymore than Mars.
It is no longer said that the moon is inhabited any more than Mars.(is inhabited). La parenthèse est très facultative. (2 verbes, 2 passifs !)
4) I only drove my car once since I had it serviced.
My car was only driven once since it had been serviced. (to have something done = faire faire quelque chose à quelqu’un, en le payant ! Il faut retrouver la formule au passif !
Beaucoup d’entre vous devraient revoir les difficultés du passif et bien penser aux particules adverbiales !
5) If ever I’d (I’d = I had )=> given my answer before, I’m sure I’d have been hired immediately. Le problème ici était de voir que ‘I’d’ ne pouvait être que ‘I had ‘ et non ‘I would’. Ceci vu, c’était facile …
6) For reasons already stated, I couldn’t come to your wedding, although I know it must have been quite an event ! … J’ai mis 2 modaux (dont un passé … pour me faire plaisir, et à vous aussi, j’espère !
7) This funny event was due not so much to the circumstances as to your willingness to make a fool of yourself ! …(not so much to … as to …)= moins à … que……………
8) From being merely broke,(destitute) he worked his way out of poverty and succeeded in becoming a well-off businessman. Ici, le ‘from’ implique une ‘provenance’, un état de depart, qui devait forcément se poursuivre dans une évolution …Etant au début complètement fauché, il est devenu …
9) It was as though I had never seen anything so cute and beautiful !(as though = as if = what isn’t real => modal past (simple or past perfect) as though = as if = comme si => passé modal qui indique un irréel.
10) Nor is this the only reason why I didn’t participate in the event ! Inversion du sujet après une négation en tête de phrase.
11) He was walking about as though he didn’t have a worry in the world, and he were the happiest man on earth !(as though = as if = unreal mode => modal pastto be = were all along)
12) Susie won’t tell you anything else unless you insist to hear her arguments.(unless + verb in the infinitive without to !)
