Of being/To be

Hi everyone !
I would like to know when I have to use 'of being' instead of to be.
I've heard lately : 'So happy of being reunited with my mate'
but 'Happy to be reunited with my mate' is also correct right ?
Is there a rule of thumb regarding this ?

Hi ! Actually, it's quite simple. I assure you!
It depends on is before your verb. If it's "to", you'll always use "be" or any verb (have, cut, ...) ! Keep in mind that "look forward to" wants being after it or having, cutting, etc...
If you've got of before your verb, you'll always use the ing form. With for as well.
Examples :
I'm so happy of being here = I'm so happy to be here
You've been hit for being so mean.
Just know that after of, for -> ing verb
After to (except look forward to) -> normal verb form
