    Hello tout le monde !
J'aimerais savoir ce que vous pensez de mon devoir et m'aider à corriger les erreurs, s'il-vous-plaît.
Le sujet est: Anyone can be fooled into committing the worst atrocities. Discuss.

How can anyone be fooled into committing the worst atrocities?
We’ll see you can be fooled by your environment, by some groups and by unfortunate circumstances.

First, the social environment where you grew up may influence your life and actions. Parents play the role of first source of inspiration because children imitate their behavior. For example, in the United States, some parents leave a gun, within their children’s reach; or permit them to have one. That’s how a boy killed his babysitter with his father’s gun. Mass media are also part of our environment and they specialize in fooling people. An extreme case would be the incitement to genocide broadcast by a radio in Rwanda, in

Moreover, when you’re part of a group, you tend to follow the crowd. This herd behavior pushes you to do things in order to be integrated. Friends sometimes challenge you to do dangerous things. As an example, “Nek nomination” on Facebook killed some teenagers who had been fooled by their friends. A group can also make decisions that are more extreme than the initial goal. Indeed, a demonstration that should have been peaceful can degenerate because some started to resort to violence. Cults are the most vicious groups because they use brainwashing and get their members to commit atrocities such as mass suicide.

Finally, you are sometimes forced to commit atrocities, either you’re protecting yourself or you’re protecting someone you love especially in times of war because violence become commonplace. In East Germany, people were denouncing their neighbors or friends under threat of the Stasi, they had to cooperate. Following the crash of their plane, Uruguayan rugby team decided to eat their dead comrades. Hitler used the crisis to fool people and gain power in 1933.

To conclude, there are plenty of things that can fool someone into committing atrocities and nobody is sheltered from them.

Merci d'avance pour votre aide !
