    Choose/ And or Then
    Message from daniel1001 posted on 10-10-2013 at 15:23:56 (D | E | F)
    Hello,

Can you help me here please?
    Thank you for your answers.

Choose the right word from "and" "then".
    4. On Saturday evening I sometimes go to the cinema __ to a pub.
I chose "then", but the correct answer is "and", I'd like to know why?

    Hello,
On Saturday evening I sometimes go to the cinema and to a pub.
I understand this sentence like that:
On Saturday evening I sometimes go to cinema and I sometimes go to a pub.
When I go to the cinema on Saturday evening, it implies that I don't go to a pub this same Saturday evening and vice versa. So "then" doesn't match here.
    Hope it helps.

    Hello

The sentence is ambiguous. Both answers could be considered correct depending on the meaning you want to convey. The word 'and' is more grammatically sound.
