    At- on/help
    Message from littletree posted on 20-06-2013 at 19:34:51 (D | E | F)
    Hello,

We can say "She is writing at / to the blackboard." and not "She is writing on the blackboard." ?
"The exercise is at on page 10." or "The exercise is on page 10. ?"
It's Is it wrong if I use the prepositions "at" and "to" ?

    Thank you for the answers.

    Hello,

    Here, we would say either:
    1) She is writing at the blackboard. (She is at the blackboard and is writing on it.) OR
    2) She is writing on the blackboard. (Wherever the blackboard is, she is there and is writing on it).
We would not say "She is writing to the blackboard." You write to a person, but not to a thing.

    Also,
    1) The exercise is on page 10. -- If you turn to page 10, you will find the exercise there.
We would not say "The exercise is at on page 10."
The other choice: "The exercise is at page 10." sounds very strange , however, you can say "The exercise is at the bottom of page 10."

    I hope this helps!
