Hello,
I am reading a book . I read the sentence:
I have spoken of him before and I will again, not only because I admired him as a person , but because he taught me some of the greatest lessons in life.
I just want to know , if I can use spoken to and why they used spoken of.
Thanks.

Hello.
'Spoken of' indicates speaking about someone, whereas 'spoken to' requires speaking (directly) with a person. So, the two are not interchangeable.

Hello,
I have spoken of him = I have already described him = I have already told you things about him....
