    Message de tiepdinhvan posté le 15-05-2013 à 12:08:31 (S | E | F)
    Hello,

    Could you help me?
    Thank you for your answers.

I rewrite these sentences. I don't know if these are true right.
1/ The models couldn't get away from the photographers.
-> There was no reason for the models to hide from the photographers.
2/my friend from college is the prizewinner", my mother told me.
-> My mother said the prizewinner was a friend of mine(OR of her) from college.
3/None of the science graduates won prizes this year.
-There were not(OR no) prizes for the science graduate this year.

1/ The models couldn't get away from the photographers.OK
-> There was no reason for the models to hide from the photographers. OK
2/my friend from college is the prizewinner", my mother told me.(not here)
-> My mother said the prizewinner was a friend of mine(OR of her_) from college. OK
3/None of the science graduates won prizes this year. OK
-There were not(OR no) prizes for the science graduates this year. OK
5/ Travelling alone in a foreign country is difficult
-It isn't easy to travelling (OR easy travelling

When both sentences are correct, it depends on the context. Capital letters and periods not corrected.

    Hello,
I want to clarify your question at the beginning. You want to know if all the sentences are written correctly ? Or are the numbered sentences the original ones, and you want to know if the sentences beneath each one are a correct interpretation ?

I want to rewrite the first sentences into the second ones in each number that keeps the same meaning as the first ones.

    Hello.
In that case, the first sentence pair is not good. The first sentence means that it was not possible to escape, but the second means that they didn't have any reason to want to escape. In the second pair, it is unclear whose friend got the prize. I'll stay with my previous answer for the other two.

    Sherry
