    Hello,

    Could you help me please?

Mary visits /visited her mom every day in 1980.
...visits or visited? which one is correct?
If the answer is visited can you explain why?
    Thank you for your answers.

    Hello,

Mary visited her mom every day in 1980.
We have to use the past simple (visited) because the action happened in 1980; it happened in the past and it is dated.
    Hope that helps.

    Hello,
As Lucile has already said, according to your sentence, you have to use the simple past because the action is finished and dated in the past(in 1980).
Evey day in 1980=habit in the past.
Mary visits her mom every day.=here you have to use the simple present tense=habit in the present tense.
There are many interesting lessons and exercises on this website about the past simple and the present tense,it's important to learn them correctly.
    Kind regards.
