Very sorry, dear Joe...I hadn't forgotten ...and very interesting to read . 'Just like' you, teenager Komiks , so eager to learn and study new things, came across ' Animal Farm', thanks to his/her History teacher and was so glad to ' know' some of it, already. Cheers ! I am almost sure he'll get and read the entire book.
This is also what I am here for.

Message: Re: lundi 04 Février 2013 . 3pm from ' the gentleman of Trieste .!
    Hurrah, Hurrah!
    For Violet Anne hurrah!
Hurrah for her cry of freedom,
    That soothes my soul’s pain!

(inspired by music and lyric of the anthem “The Bonny Blue Flag)

    [...]
I read George Orwell’s main works on my own initiative, when I was 13 or 14. At that time the teaching of history in the school didn’t go longer than WW1. And, of course, I didn’t stop after reading them. [sorry, Joe, I couldn't post all you wrote about your youth experience in your own country : as you say, politically correctness.)
    [..]

    Story of four people.
This is the story of four people, whose names are Somebody, Anybody, Nobody and everybody.

Something important had to be done ,
And Everybody was entrusted with the task,
But he thought Somebody were (subjunctive) better fit
    For doing it,
    And would have provided accordingly,
Though Anybody could have done it.
    Indeed Nobody did it,
    Thus provoking Somebody getting upset,
    For the business was Everybody’s.
    Anyone could have done it,
    Was the thought of Everybody,
    While Nobody soon realized,
That Everybody would have done it.
To conclude the story we can say:
    Everybody blamed Somebody
    Because Nobody did,
    What Everybody could have done.
Comment: “What a pity what a shame,
And no one who takes the blame!”

The Seven Commandments:1 - Every being having two legs is an enemy.
2 - Every four-legged or winged being is a friend.
3 - No animal shall wear clothes.
4 – No animal shall sleep in a bed.
5 – No animal shall drink alcoholics.
6 - No animal shall kill another animal.
7 – All animals are equal.

After a period of time, the rain had erased all the Commandments except a single one which stated very clearly in capital letters:
All animals are equal but some of them are more equal than others.

Friendly thanks to you and all who first did the work , then thought (that) a nice comment would add a little warm personal touch after several hours of work and research. Violet XX
