    Mayn't or may not
    Message from dangkhoa posted on 07-01-2012 at 02:57:25 (D | E | F)
    Hello,

Mayn't is the old form of British English, so how can we write the tag with this form?
Can we write: It may rain, mayn't it? or It may rain, may it not?
    Thanks for your help.

    Hello

When "may" means "probability/possibility", you should use "mightn't". It may rain, mightn't it?
