    Hello!

    My personal impression is that the words of this song are shrouded in mystery and innuendo and no one knows what they mean exactly, although there is much speculation. The original words were written in Gaelic. Knowing a little about the construction of Scottish poetry, I would say that this has more the sense of "I gazed at her in her radiant beauty". The obvious answer is "fair or festival", but I don't think that's it. The rest of the words are too mysterious to make that a definitive answer.
