y a t-il une différence fondamentale entre le concept de "workplacement" et le concept "internships" ?

Not really, no. They're both roughly equivalent to a "stage" in French/France.
It's more a question of usage: "internship" is a more modern term which tends to be used to refer to work experience placements in big companies, banks or government offices to make them sound more important and impressive, whereas "work placement" (note that it's two words) or "work experience" are more neutral terms that refer essentially to the same thing.
