    hi everybody!
    I caught up a quote in the English class,but I don't totally understand the quote "when you have lost your inns,drown your empty selves, for you will have lost the last of England!", I just think it sounds slightly like old English,the same as the style of William Shakespeare,so I hope you can give me best a better answer.

    It does sound kind of archaic, although I wouldn't say it is in the style of Shakespeare.

    What the quote is saying is that: when all the inns (pubs) in England are gone, we may as well drown ourselves, because England will have lost its identity.
