    Hello
Because glasses is in the plural.
I broke a glass, I bought two glasses.
    It is a big glass.
    They are big glasses.
Glasses are either what you drink from ( a wine-glass), what you drink ( a glass of wine ) or what you use when you are short-sighted or long-sighed. Sight-glasses, sunglasses. The spy was wearing a wig, a fake beard and sunglasses.

Glass is a noun, not an adjective.
Big is an adjective. Adjectives don't take the plural.
