    Confusing comparative /help
    Message from mohammad51 posted on 08-08-2022 at 07:03:38 (D | E | F)
    Hello
Though it is a simple sentence, yet I have a bit confusion with it
Please guide me in case I am wrong.
    Thank you in advance

I think it is not well performed in 1 below
    1. John had a bigger apple than Sue. I suggest adding ('s to Sue )
John had a bigger apple than Sue's = Sue's apple
OR John had a bigger apple than the one Sue has had

    Hello,

John had a bigger apple than Sue's ...no it's not right.
You could use 's if you say:
John's apple is bigger than Sue's.

John had a bigger apple than the one Sue (has) had ...is ok.
