    Here is my work:
    1- A person who looks after a church and often is responsible for bellringing etc. (n s x t) sexton = sacristain.
    2- A synonym of "exciting". (h n l l t g r) 2 thrilling = excitant, palpitant.
    3- A tropical plant, whose roots yield tapioca. (s v c s) 3 cassava = manioc.
    4- Flags for use in celebrations. (t n b g n) 2 bunting = fanion, banderoles.
    5- A number of people, things etc crowded together. (d d l h) 2 huddle = petit groupe.
    6- Showing great respect. (v t r n r) 3 reverent = respectueux.
    7- To throw (cargo etc) overboard to lighten a ship, aircraft etc in times of danger. (t s n j t) jettison = jeter à la mer, se débarrasser de, mais aussi défroquer...
    8- A person who climbs mountains, especially with skill, or as his occupation. (n n r m t) 6 mountaineer = alpiniste.
