Hi,
Could you please explain which rule we have to use for the following Dativ and Akkusativ for each case below ?
1. Das Lexikon liegt auf dem Tisch.
2. Die Nummer des Postamtes kommt hinter den Ortsnamen.
3. Die Nummer des Postamtes steht hinter dem Ortsnamen.
4. Die Kinder sitzen auf dem Baum.
5. Das Kind kriecht unter den Tisch.
6. Das Kind ist unter dem Tisch.

Hi tangerois,
The rule is pretty easy to understand.
- We use the accusative case when the verb expresses a movement, such as "kommen" and "kriechen" in your examples (2,5)
- We use the dative case when the verb expresses a position, such as "liegen", "stehen", "sitzen", "sein" in your examples (1,3,4,6)
