    Bonjour,
je n'arrive pas à comprendre pourquoi dans un cas (1re phrase) l'adverbe est placé juste après le sujet et dans l'autre cas (2e phrase) l'adverbe est placé après l'auxiliaire.
    Merci de votre réponse.
    Véronique
1/ He often has lunch with us
2/ They have often been told not to do that.

    Bonjour
L'adverbe de fréquence se place :
    Devant le verbe lexical:
I never smoke, he often came, I sometimes have a cold, he always has problems with his car.
derrière l'auxiliaire : I am often late (to be se comporte toujours en auxilaire même s'il est seul), he is often complaining, I have never seen a ghost, He has never got over it, I will often come, I had rarely seen that, he has always got problems with his car.
Devant l'auxiliaire quand il remplace le verbe en tag, en réponse courte.
    Do you smoke?
    No, I never do
    No, I rarely do
    Yes, I sometimes do

    Has he finished ?
    Yes, he already has

Does he sometimes have a cold ?
    Yes, he sometimes does.

He often has lunch with us : verbe lexical, consommer. Même chose que : He often comes for lunch
2/ They have often been told not to do that. auxiliaire have du present perfect. They were often told, they have often been told.. adverbe placé derrière l'auxiliaire et devant le verbe lexical au participe passé passif.
    He has never shot anybody.
    He has never been shot.
    He's never been shot.
