    Comment/compliment

    Hello,
Can someone please tell me what the difference between Comment and Compliment is?
Comment can be in positive or in negative, but I don't think that Compliment is in negative.
Please tell if I am mistaken.

    Yes I would say so.
'comment' to explain, criticize, express an opinion...
'compliment' to express admiration esteem, respect even affection...

    Hi there,

For these two words you use them the same way you do in french (Complimenter qq et commenter sur qqchose)
