Bonjour
En tombant sur ce titre sur internet (momentum)
"14 MPs turn up to discuss UN report on 14 million people living in poverty", avec une photo d'un beau parlement vide,
cela me confirme ce que je savais depuis un moment.
Les abréviations ayant perdu leur point comme M.P.'s, Members of Parliament, le pluriel en 's a aussi disparu des abréviations et donc on trouve MPs, logique, imparable!
idem pour "the 60s", je suppose.

Hello.
Regarding the disappearance of periods for abbreviations, time is one example. You can write AM and PM with uppercase letters and no periods, but more often you see a.m. and p.m. written with lowercase letters and periods.
Apostrophes indicate possession or a missing letter, as in a contraction, so the only time I would expect to see an apostrophe with MPs, would be to make it possessive, as well as plural such as 'the MPs' uniforms'.

Look at this title: The Bamboo Cage: The True Story of American P.O.W.'s in Vietnam
I used to teach my pupils that you couldn't turn a dot or a 0(zero) into plural, and so 's would be required.
But now mps, or POWs or the 60s is common.

Hello. I see what you are saying, but I have always done it just as in your example of the 60s, and POWs. I think dropping the abbreviation periods makes plurals much easier! For well-known acronyms, like FBI, we typically don't use periods, but those less well-known are more likely to have them. ..Sherry
