    Help/their, his or her
    Message from mohammad51 posted on 27-12-2017 at 16:17:42 (D | E | F)
    Hi
Please help me to solve this .... I know each and every are pronouns that refer to a singular subject, so the verb coming after must be a singular verb, but focus on this sentence please.
Each boy and each girl is busy doing ( her -his -their) work.
if we choose her then it refers to girl only.
If we choose his it refers to boy only.
If we use their, is it suitable to subject- verb agreement?

    Hello,
When you don't know who you talk about, you have to use the plural.
Each boy and each girl is busy doing their work...will be correct then.
    Another example:
Someone knocked at the door; do you know who they are?
