    I would like to know if the following sentences are correct please.
    Thanks for any reply.

    "....In the near future ( or Now), our efforts are concentrated on .... "
    "....are still open problems"
    "....is still an open problem"

    Mind the plural or the singular + the moment when the action takes place.
    "....In the near future our efforts will be concentrated on .... " correct
    ...Now our efforts are concentrated on ...correct
    "....are still open problems" ...correct
    "....is still an open problem" ...incorrect, our efforts is a plural, then the verb must be a plural : are

    ...Now our efforts are concentrated on ...correct here, Plural + (now) means the verb must be in the present simple

    But here, there is a problem.........really my problem is with an
    "....are still open problems...correct (without an)
    "....is still an open problem" ... I can put the an

    Hello,
    - our efforts is still an open problem ...is not correct because the subject 'our efforts' is a plural, then the verb must be a plural = are.
    - the article a/an means 1 (one) and then is singular. You can talk about a problem, but you'll talk about 2 or more problems.
    Examples:
    there is a book on the table
    there are 3 books on the table
